Robert McLiuchlau was charged with leserting fiom Treutham, where he was n the Fouiteenth Beintorcements. He ft as also charged with stealing rings xnd other jewellery from girls. Ho was sentenced to six weeks' imprisonment For the thefts, and ordered to bo returned to the ntihtarj authorities on the expiration of his sentence. Dunedin, July 28. Daniel Cn«idy, who pleaded guilty in the lmver Court to attempted rape and also to indecent assault, came before the Supreme Couit for sentonce. He was ordered to he detained for reformative treatment for a term not exceeding three -years- oil. the first charge; and imprisoned'--.till the rising of , the Court on the second.
