DEATH OF MR H.F. SELDON.

He-was called in at 7.30 a.m. on July 4th; and found him suffering^froiri a wound.in the throat. \He put a stitch in and dressed the wound, and ordered his removal to the Hospital. He,was not ' moved immediately; and he (witness) went back again in the afternoon, and found that lie had made a second and more serious a^teapt, the wind-pipe being Severed. He had him removed to I the Hbspital, and did not see him j again. He considered that the second wound hastened his death. The inquest was then adjourned to recall Mrs. Seldon and Ker son in regard to the second attertpt.

.. ■ •■' , July, 14. Alter hearing further evidence yesterday concerning the death of Frederick Henry Seldon, the-, coroner found that the deceased died from exhaustion and heart failure, following an attempt on his throat while in a state of temporary insanity.

One of Marlborough's oldest identities —Mr William Sowman —passed awjay at Blenheim on Wednesday evening, at the age of 73 years. The deceased came' out to New Zealand in 1853, and had been resident in the; Nelson and Blenheim districts for practically half a century.
