CELEBRATIONS AT SYDNEY.

(Received April 25, 7.5 p.m.) Sydney, April 25. Glorious weather prevailed for the Anzac Day celebrations. The chief function was a procession of 5000 re- | turned soldiers through the principal streets, which were thronged by immense crowds, to the Domain, where an impressive commemoration service was conducted. Services were held in the various churches, all being -largely attended. A luncheon was given to returned soldiers in the Town Hall, and there was a concert in the Town Hall at night. Great recruiting rallies were held throughout the day and evening. An army of lady collectors were busy in the city and suburban streets. At nine o'clock this morning all trains and trams stopped for a minute and at noon everyone stood bare-headed for a minute. There were similar demonstrations throughout the Commonwealth. • The Anzac Day messages included cables from the King, Sir William Birdwood and Sir lan Hamilton.
