A communique i?ays : —
We took the offensive south of Garbunovka, in the Dvinsk region, and occupied hills west and south of the village. The enemy's several counterattacks were repulsed, and they left many dead on the field. During fighting at Trlibukhovce Austrians, approaching our trenches, threw down their rifles, crying out that they surrendered; but they attacked our troops with daggers, and fierce fighting ensiled. Our" troops in the Bitlis region, after a fight lasting many days, defeated aj Turkish division which had newly arrived from Constantinople. We are energetically pursuing its retreating elements. •
