FUND

Sir,—To-day a little pirl called at a house in town trying to sell postcards in aid of the 'above fund. The lady ot tho house happened to be a member of the committee, and had beard nothing about such an effort to collect bei9{?l made _As o, result of questioning, the girl said her mother had sont her out selling, and was going to'Uiy her and j her sister a new pair of boots "each with the irenoy. A similar caso occurred lately, but a new hat was the object then. The public are requested to sa-; tisfy themselves of Vjfi bona fides of any collector. By the way, this is not the only fund that is being utilised for pri* ! vat© gaiil. in a similar way. If any more such collecting is done the police will be asked to take proceedings.
