AUSTRO-ITALIAN NEGOTIATIONS.
POSSIBILITY OF ADJUSTMENT
THE UNREDEEMED PROVINCES
London, May 7
A Rome message says it is stated in official circles that there is a possibility of an Austro-Italian accord. This is probably due to the fact that Austria realises that Italy is determined to intervene to secure the territories Italians inhabit. The differences now concern the next territory to be handed over. The greatest obstacle is the claim for the cession of Trieste.
Yon Bulow declares that if he could induce Baron Sonniuo, the Italian Foreign Minister, to relinquish the claim to Trieste, and Trieste would accept the constitution of a free city, an agreement might be reached in a short time.
The "Lokalanzieger" takes a pessimistic view, and says Germany must reckon on .momentous news from Rome; but she can await with" calmness Italy's decision:
