| Mr. W. S.'Hampson, secretary of the iNelson ©hamber of Commerce, has received the following letter from tho Public Works Department):—"l have the honour, by direction of the Minister of Public Works, to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the sth inst.,conveying an expression of opinion from the Nelson Cliamber of Commerce as to tho importance of completing tho Whangapeka and Little Wanganui track. In reply, I am directed by the Minister to inform you that arrangements have already been ma do for carrying out the survey of the remaining x>ortion of the I track. The survey is necessary before further work can be undertaken. I iiuve, vtc, H. J. H. Blow, TJnder-Sec-retary."
