PENNY-IN-THE-SLOT PEER.
The Duke of Norfolk, I. am told, has
a passion for penny-in-the-slot machines ("The Carpenter" writes in the- "Daily Express"). There is a row of them .before the old Black Rabbit public-house a mile above A-rundel Bridge, and the Duke, who often strolls along this pleasant way, arms himself with coppers, and sallies forth to mighty deeds among the "try-your-grip" machines, the fortune-telling apparatus,, and the cricketers who return your penny if you score a boundary. The "try-your-grip" machine is the Duke's strong suit.
