THE KENNEDYS.
To-morrow night, at the Theatre Royal, music lovers of Nelson will have an' opportunity of hearing the Kennedys, a musical combination which has appeared with conspicuous success in all parts of the world. Referring to the opening entertainment at Christchurch ■ recently the "Press states:— Saturday night was fitted more for the fireside than the theatre, but those who braved the elements and visited the Theatre Royal to hear the Kennedy Company of entertainers were rewarded. by an enjoyable evening which far outweighed the discomforts of transit to and from the playhouse. A company of people who set out to demonstrate their ability on a variety of musical instruments, are frequently dismissed with the ancient adage that classes such adventurers as masters of none, but the Kennedys can throw caution to the winds, and give an absolute contradiction to the old saying. There are, too, so many people in vaudeville who can extract what they consider to be music out of unlimited weird instruments, winch I thankfully are not common, but at best they .never rise above that class of music which" has become associated in this country at any rate with vaudeville endeavour. With the Kennedys it is quite different. They are musicians, not vaudeville artistes, and their music would suggest something' just a little more "popular" than a .chamber concert. It has the merit* of being classical without being severely so. The box plan is at Jackson's and intending patrons are advised to reserve their scats.
