In the Schools of the .Empire shooting competition for seniors, Charterhouse was first with , a score of, 502; New Plymouth, New Zealand, second, with 501; and St. Peter's Collegiate School, Adelaide, fourth 'with 494. In the junior competition Auckland Grammar School was first.

The following will represent the Nelson Defence Rifle Club in a match against the Waimca Defence Rifle Club, to be held at Brightwater to-morrow: Riflemen J. Holland, W. Mitchener, J. Milroy, J. Manssen, R. Kenning, J. Fisher, A. Busch, J. Gledhill, R. McGuire, and C. Curnow. The team will leave by the 10 o'clock train.
