DEATH OF MRS FULHAM

Mrs Fulham, who was sentenced in March, 1913, died in prison from apo-

plexy

In March, 1913, Lieutenant Clark, of the Indian Subordinate Medical Department, and the widow of a Mr Fulham, an assistant examiner of military accounts, were charged with the murder of Mrs Clark, wife of Lieutenant Clark, and of Mr Fulham. Lieutenant Clark, on examination by the Chief Jastice at the close of the trial, confessed to the killing of Mrs Clark by administering doses of antipyrin. Both prisoners were found guilty of both charges, and were sentenced to death. After medical evidence, however, the sentence on the female prisoner was commuted to one of penal eurvitud© for life. Lieutenant Clark was executed at Alahabad on March 26th. Of thenatives who were charged with the murder of Mrs Clark at the instigation of Lieutenant Clark, three were found guilty and were subsequently hanged.
