THE NELSON ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the Nelson .Cricket Association was held in the Commercial Hotel la^t evening- Present. Me«sr--' H Finnoy (in the chair), C. Treweek, G.Richmond, 11. Johnston. N. A. \ercoe and E. R. Neale. Tho business was to mako further arrangements in connection with tho visit of the Australian team. ~ The offer of Mr Gay to provide a drag for tho conveyance of the visitors chirms: their stay was accepted.. Mr"C. Hagpitt was appointee] as umpire for tho Nolsou team, and Mr J. A. Stewart as scorer. , It was resolved that tho selectors mako tho appointment of captain. Tiie secretary was instructed < to mi'orm the players selected that practices must bo attended, or changes in the- team might be found necessary. Arising out of a letter from the JNelson Advancement Society, tho seoro- ; lar.y, Mr E. 11. Naale-, was appointed to utttHid tho meetings of the society. Tlio mooting then terminated
