A DETERMINED SUICIDE.

Christchursh, Feb. 11. At .in early hour this morning John Carter, residing at 857 Colombo street, iound the body of his brother, Robert Bennett Carter, hanging from a branch of a tree- in the back yard. The deceased, who was 40 years of age, was a single man, and a carpenter by trade. He had been eccentric in his manner and behaviour for some time na.st. Usually he slept in a tent. Deceased had first attempted suicide by cutting himself with a razor on both arms in front of the elbow joint, and on the right side of tlie neck. At the inquest a verdict was returned that deceased committed suicide while temporarily insane. :
