There was a large attendance of ladies and bowlers, seven rinks being fully occupied. Mr. J, E. Alten, tho president of the club, in the opening speech, entered into a short history of the green, and congratulated Mr. Tomblin on its very perfect appearance —which was higoly comineiu-c i' upon- by those taking part in tho ;■ un-noon's play—also welcoming the visitors, and offering, to sister clubs- a he-arty welcome to play until their. j-j:;rx:ctive clubs are ready for play. . . ; . .
