ST JOHN'S METHODIST CHURCH.

THE VALLANCE COOK &ISSION

• In continuance of the speqial mission in St John's Church .the Bey Vallance Cook gave a Bible reading yesterday afternoon, taking for' his subject part of chapter 1 in St John's first Epistle. In tho evening there was again a good attendance, when Mr Ctfok dealt with the subject of conversion. Taking for his text tho call of Matthew, he showed that conversion was the great theme of the New. Testament. Conversion was the turning, of the soul from sin to holiness, from self to God. Nearly all the conversions recorded'in ■ tho New Testament were sudden. One of the fruits of. conversion was hatred of sin. Another was love of Christ. All' might turn to Christ and become his followers. The mission will continue throughout the week. This afternoon Mr "Cook will give a lecture to women only on "Woman, Wife, Mother," and ' will conduct a special service in the evening. On Friday evening Mrs Cook will give the story of her life.
