MAITAI BOWLING CLUB.
ANNUAL RE-UNION

Tho annual social re-union in connection with tho Maitai Bowling Club was held in tho llaeremai tea rooms last • evening, there being a large, attendance" of members and "their* wives and friends. The first part of tho evening was devoted to progressive euchre, alter which the trophies won during the past season Avere presented, supper was served, and vocal ancl iustrumental items rendered. The-presi-dent (Mr J. E. Allen), prior to the presentation or trophies, made a few remarks, in which he explained that the re-union was for the purpose of providing pleasure, not only for the bowler.:'., but for their wives an,.d[ friends, and he expressed his gratification at seeing so many present. Trophies were presented as follows: Senior championship (president's prize), G. F. Dodds; runner-up (club trophy), W-. A. Doe; junior championship (vice-president's prize), W. Laird; runner-up (A. Richards' trophy), H. R. Iludman; Wright's singles (Dr Wright's prize), VV. A. Dee; president's pairs, H. R. Rudrnan and^ A. Kara ten; vice-president's pairs, G. C. Glover and J. AY. Richards; Simpson pairs (Mr. G. R. Simp-son's trophy), A. Richards and AY. Frost; Harford feathers (Saturday), G. Glover, J. K. Johnston, W. Frost, and J. AY. Richards; Kerr buckles, AY. Levoliston, W. AVilkens, A. Karsten, and AY. Thorn; Labour D-.ty pairs (club trophy and Mr Dodds' trophy), G. C. Glovcr'and AY. Hockey; anniversary day pairs (Mr G. Jolmslon's medals), J. B. Collier and G. Dec ; runners-up (club trophy), F. Pitt and AY. Frost; Boxing Day rinks, AY. J. Smith, J. McEuehon, S. M. Gaibraith and J. M. Calder.
During the evening the president, on behalf of members, presented Mr C. J. McEaehen, an cx-pre&idont and enthusiastic member of the. club, who is leaving Nelson, with a travelling rug as a mark of their esteem and regard. In expressing regret at Mr McEachen's departure^ Mr Allen wished him success in his new sphere. Mr McEachen suitably acknowledged tho gift. An orchestra consisting of Misses Ward (2), and Jacobs, Messrs W. T. Ward. A. Rout, W. Brundell, and J. E. Allen performed several selections. Songs were contributed 'by Misses Ward, Richards, Jacobs, Mrs Dodds, Messrs E. Richards, C. Whelan, and J. E. Allen, a ventriloqual item by Mr. S. Hollmgsworth, and a quartet be by Mr. Ward's party. The items were all very much appreciated. Mr Allen's song, which was composed by himself, was peculiarly appropriate to the occasion, having reference to the "ame of bowls, and was sung to tho air of "Three For Jack," members joining in the chorus, which was-as ioI-
