PRIVATE PARKS.
Tho Duko of Maryborough, intends to plough and put under crop 1000 acres of the 2400 acres o f Blenheim Park, which has a circumference of about nine miles. But Oven with these dimensions it is smaller than several other private -parks in England. Lord Carnarvon's Park at Highclere, for instance, has a circumference of thirteen miles, and Pentworth Park, belonging to Lord Leconfield, has a circumference of 10 miles. The Duke of Northumberland is ono of tho greatest park-owners in England, ono of the threo parks at Alnwick alone (Hulne Park) running to about .3000 acres. Tho Duke of Newcastle's park at Clumber encloses about 4000 acres, and Lord Bathurst has a park and woods at Cirencester running to something liko 3000 acres.; After figures such as these Badminton (Duko Beaufort) and Woutworth Woodhouse (Lord Fitzwillijam), •each with about 1500 acres, and Arundcl (Duko of Norfolk), with nbout 1200 acres are comparatively small. , :
