NELSON SAVAGE CLUB.

INSTALLATION KOIIERO

(From "The Colonist," May 26.)

The installation korero of the Nelson Savage Club, when Great Chief Dimant was raised to his high office, and presided, took placo on Saturday night. There- was an exceedingly largo < attendance, and it proved one of the most ontortaining evenings over "wildaway" by the Wakatu tribe. The programme was an exceedingly enjoyable one, and was not concluded till noarly 11 o'clock. During the evening the Groat Chief stated that at tiio next korero, in three weeks' time, he would make an announcement in connection with tho savage concert, which will be given during the season. Sub-Chief Field read a letter of greetings from Warrior Foster, in which his doings on tho way to, and in England, and his election, to and performance at tho London Savage Club, wore mentioned, and fo'/lowcd with tho utmost interest and appreciative comment by tho local toas. The savage liedertafel, under the musical director, Savage Scott, was for tho first time seen in action, and both part choruses, were vociferously applauded. In connection with this tho Great Chief announced that the next practice would be hold on Saturday week, June 7th. The programme was as follows: — Orchestral item ; installation and remarks of Great Chief; Savage chorus; song by Savage Topliss (encored); yarns; by visiting Say ago Morris; phonographic records ' (Savage" Brundell); song by Savage A. G. Thompson' (encored) ; Savage Foster's travels,, by Savage Field; song by Savage Bush (encored); orchestral item ; a savage chorus; reminiscences, by Groat Chief Dimant; so>;g by Savage Thompson; monologue hy- Savage McCabe (encored)■;. banjo -solo, Savage Taylor; humorous songs by Savage Bush (encored); phonographic records ; humorous recitation 1»y Savage Allan (encored). Tho singing of the ode and the National Anthem brought the evening to a close.
