FORECAST OF THE NEW HOUSE
SMALL LIBERAL MAJORITY

Largo crowds are watching the posting of tho returns, which continue to improve tho Liberal position. On tho present showing it looks as if Labour is in for a defeat.
On the latest figures, counting safe and probable wins, the Liberals altogether look like gaining 15 si.-ats against six gained by Labour. If this forecast proves correct' the new House- will consist of 39 liberals and 36 Labour members. The Liberals are jubilant.
In New South Wales the Liberals are practically certain of winning

seven seats, Calare, iHume, Nepean, New England, Riverina, Robertson, and Wevriwa, while Ill'awarra is still in doubt. In Victoria they won Coringamite, Wannon, Gippsland, Indi, and Corio, with Ballarat still in the balance.
Labour in Victoria has captured Fawkner and Bendigo.
On incomplete but fairly reliable figures the Liberals in Queensland captured Lilley, a newly-created electorate, while Labour gained Oxloy.
In West Australia the Liberals gained Dampier, while Labour wrested Fremantlo from them.
In South Australia Labour has gained two seats, Loothby and Wakefiold. The latest figures make Mr Fang O'Malley practically safe.
