MONTHLY MEETING.
The usual monthly meeting of the Upper Mouterc Road Hoard was held on Saturday, May 24th, when all the members, with the exception of Mr. I). Bensemann, wero present. Mr.-A. Honsemann, the newly .elected chairman, presided.
Accounts totalling £3.9 18s 3d wero passed for payment. A deputation of the Board having inspected the old Motueka Beach road, it was resolved to approach the Bell Orchards Syndicate for a subsidy of £ for £ up to £o tor improvements thereto.
The action of Mr. Harvey in taking legal advice re the widening of Gardner's road was endorsed by the Board.
A memorandum from agents of the Norwich and London Insurance Company, enclosing receipt and cheque i'or a refund in last year's premium, was read and received.
The tender cf Mr. Harriss for metalling-Harvey's road was accepted, and it was resolved to allow him two days' labour for cleaning the watertables.
It was resolved to exempt Gardner's rood from being a full chain in width ; that a culvert 18 feet long with a 4 feet 3 inches .waterway be erected near Mr. J. Bonsemann's homestead.
The resignation of Mr. Baigent «.s secretary to thy Board, was received wii'i very deep regret, and after a 'ballot Mr. A. Wilkcns was duly elected secretary.
