MOTUEKA DISTRICT.

(From "The Colonist," Feb. 4.) The annual meeting of delegates was held in the Oddfellows' Hall, Motueka, on Tuesday. P.P.G.M. Bro W. Boyce» occupied the chair, and D.P.G.M. Bro. TO. Chittenden the vice chair. :

The following delegates were present: Bros. AW Boyce, H. Xtumbold,. arid C. J. Boyes (Motueka); J. A. Askew and Reg. Rowling (Good' Intention Lodge^. Itiwaka); J. F. Rose and A.. \Vhelham ; (Tak'ilka)-; Joseph Thorn (South,.--Star Lodge, Dovedale); and tlie corresponding secretary, Bro. C. Fry. The balance sheet was.- read and adopted; and the particulars of the various lodges were as follows: Motueka Lodge, 218 members, funds £5488 17s; Takakay 127 members, funds £2199 14s sd; JRJwaka, :105 lnembers, funds £3867 19s Bd. The value of. ;.the district fiihd was shown to be £4509 0s 5d and-the) -total of the lodges, and district tabe £16,065 lls 6d. . ■':.*■ It was resolved that .the D.G.M. deputies and tyler be paid according to scale

The report of. the lodge book examiner on the books of the various lodges was adopted. . Bro. C. Fry was re-appointed lodge book examiner, and Bros. Everett and Canavan auditors for the ensuing year. Bros. Thorn, Rum bold, Askew, and Boyce together with the Grand Master * wore appointed a-n executive committee to conduct the July meeting. Resolved that the C.S. write to the widow of the late Bro. W. Ryder, qxpressing the sympathy of the district with her and her family in their sad. bereavement. . . Bro. W. Boyce was appointed a trustee in the place of the late. Bro. W. Ryder. i.
