POLITICAL NOTES.
THE WORK OF PARLIAMENT.
STATEMENT BY THE PREMIER
(From our Parliamentary Correspondent.)
Wellington, July 26. Arrears of departmental work'having been made up by the new Ministers, they are now engaged in preparing the annual estimates, which must be ready for presentation with the financial, statement. Tin's important document, will not be placed before the House until the week following the resumption, for the Prime Minister has already outlined a programme, to keep Parliament busy for the first week at least.
The House meets on Wednesday,, whan an Imprest Supply Bill will be introduced. This gives wide opportunities for discussion. Questions will bo answered, and, according to the Premier, notice given of the introduction of several Government policy measures. Thursday would be devoted to privatemembers' business, if members wer© prepared with the Bills of which they had given notice; and on Friday the Government could get on with some of it* own Bills, if there was any time available^ after such formal business as the setting up of .sessional committees, and so on. Mr. Mass_©y could not say when: the financial .statement, containing the Government's policy, would be brought down, but it would be probably early in.; the week after Parliament resumed'!
