THE MURDERERS' PUNISHMENT.

The Camorrists Sortino, Moora, Cerrato, Digennaro, Mariano, and Salavi, were found guilty of being the actual murderers, and Afano and Demnrinia of plotting and commanding tho crime. Tlioy were each sentenced to thirty years' solitary imprisonment.
The remainder, on a charge of longing to.a criminal association
plotting, were sentenced to terms ranging from four to twenty years. Vitozzi received a sentence of seven years.
The trial of the members of the Camorra attracted world-wide attention. They were charged with the murder of Genuaro Cuocolo and his wife in 1906, tbo body of tho former being in that year found on the seashore near Torre del Greco, perforated with forty stabs. His wife in the same hour was stabbed to death in.her house. The male victim Avas a member of the Camorra, and the receiver of stolen goods. Ili. s murder had been apparently prompted by re-ve-nge, and the authorities determined to probe the mystery to the bottom. A number of arrests were made, but not till four and a half years after the crime were the prisoners brought to trial. The court was opened in Vitcrbo, near Rome, on March 11th, 191.1. There were about 600 witnesses, and the trial dragged on up to this month.
