Griffiths and Co., Ltd., report a wonderful improvement in the apple market on th© Wellington fruit and produce market, this last day or two. choice desserts (Jonathans and Cox s Orange) realising from 9s to 10s per bushel, and •rreen cookers from 4s 6d to o&W. IWs'have also shown up sPte™ ldJy> and are .selling from 8s to 10s 6d for best eating varieties, while others and fair desserts fetch 6s 6d to 7s Gd. Cookers make to 5s 6d. Quinces realise 4s 6d to ss. Vegetables are. also at higher prices than usual, and cauliflowers make from 6s to 13s ; French beans 6s to 7s bd par bushel; green peas 9d to Is per peck ; marrows 3s to 4,s per sack; pumpkins 5 8 to 6s; pie melons 7s to ba per sack; tomatoes 3s to 4s, inferior Is to 2,s 6d. With moderate supplies of apples values will be well maintained, with a rising tendency for thei better class des&erts.
