FEDERAL V. RICHMOND.
The above men's senior game was played at Richmond on Saturday, ana was won by Federal by 3 goals to 2. The winners had much the best of the game, but through not taking advantage of chances, and ,at other times through good defence, they had not much to spare. They played one short'through-
out. There was no score till wall on in the first spell, when McGlashen shot for Richmond, the ball running up over tho goal keeper's shoulder. Richmond held this lead till half-way through the second spell, when a shot which curled after striking the ground, beat the Richmond goal keeper. With 7 minutes to go the score was unaltered, but Federal then scored twice from scrambles. Just as tima was up Richmond rushed the circle, and although the goal keeper saved, he was smothered before he could clear and P. Holland scored. There was some good hockey at times, but on the whole, there was nothing bril'iant. Messrs. Wimsett and Goodman were referees. After the match the ladies of the Kia Ora Club provided afternoon tea, which was greatly appreciated, and for which thoy were accorded three cheers, .
