GriEtchurcto, Jan. 31. Tinl South Island Brass Bands' Association to-night considered the protect of the Woo'ston Band against the

"revised" decision in the quick step competition. Kvidonce was Riven by Mr. C. J. Gallop, representing the "vVoolston Band, and Mr. W. U. Webloy, who added the detailed figures, and who stated that the addition was wrong as .announced on the show grounds. This was duo to the fact that considerable noise was going on in the room when the points were beisig added Up. It was decided to dismiss the protest, and to return the flouosit made by the Woolston Band.

The executive placed on record its !)i;.:h appreciation of the work done by Mr. T. Morgan as adjudicator, and <>r his criticisms. Mr. Morgan will be asked to select the test pieces for the Di!»bdin contest.
