Important changes, in the person at11 of the Now Zealand staff of the Salvation Arniy are announced with a view to a sevei'ance of the Dominion from Australian control in Army affairs. Colonei Birkenshaw becomch Commander of the Sydney province, and Major Johnson (Col. . Birkenshaw \s secretary) goes with him. Major Carmichael has been appointed Provincial G«nimander for the newlyconstihited Wellington province. Auckland has been created a separatt province with 25 corps, with Briu;aliier Vinco (Bat-hurst, N.S.W.) "r.;. Commander." Brigadier Gist, Wts-t Australia, takes command of th ■ Christchureh province, and Brigadiei Jago (New Soutli Wales) takes charpo of Duncdin
