"The Times' " Vienna correspondent gives details of Miss Edith Durham's searching inquiry into 23 eases of Albanian women who did not flee to Montenegro during the repressive measures by Shevket Torgut Pasha against Albanian insurgents. They were outraged and beaten, and in soiite cases afterwards burned to death, while ejiildren were bayonetted. The viotims Included two nuns. Hence the refusal of women to return to their homes while Turkish soldiers remained in Albania. Tho refugee women state that they would rather starve in Montenegro than again trust tho Turks.
