SPEECH BY SIR JOHN QUICK.
SOCIALIST INFLUENCE SUGGEST-
(Received July 26, 11.15 p.m.)
London, July 26. Sir John Quick, in a speech at Plymouth, said Mr Fisher might speak for himself and a small clique of Socialists, but his statement was a perversion and a gross misrepresentation of tlio views of the great mass of the Australian people and the Australian democracy. Sir John Quick's explanation was that tho socialistic party was threatening Mr Fisher's leadership, and his anti-British and anti-Imperial sneech was a sort of rallying counterblast for the extremists and revolutionists.
