DEATH DUTIES.

[United Press Association.]

Wellington, May J6. The "Post" states that "there appears to be every probability that the revenue derived this year from stamp duty payable on estates of deceased persons, and succession duties, will constitute a record. No official figures arc available, but it is understood that on one estate recently assessed at over £•250,000 the amount paid was well over £50,000, and that qn another estate (in the North Island) there is every prospect of the revenue being increased by from £150,000 to £200,000.
