Dr. Jameson has arrived in London, says a cable message. His ga^-o trouble lias been removed, but his rheumatism remains.
A Sydney message states that the condition of Mr. Macdonnell, Chief Secretary of the State, which was causing some anxiety, is improving.
A London cable message records the death of Sir Edward Bradford, fo'-'-rie*'-ly Commissioner of the London police, from an apoplectic Eeizure. He waa 75 years of age.
A London cable- says that the Kiri£ and Queen were present at Convent Garden at a performance of "La B:----heme," Madam© Melba taking tho leading role.
The Acting Premier (the Hon James Carroll) yesterday opened a museum and a miniature rifle range at the Masterton'District High' School (says a Press Association wire). There was a large attendance, and several addresses were delivered. Mr Carroll leaves at once for Dannevirke,, en route for Takapau, where he opens a. neiv post office on Wednesday.
A well known and much respected settler of Ashhurst, Mr A. Lacey, died at the Palmerston Hospital on Thursday. Deceased, who was aged 48, was born in Devonshire, and had resided in New Zealand for 37 years.
Mr Wyllie, of Papatoetoe, states the Auckland "Herald," has just celebrated his ninet3 T-fifth birthday.
