Auckland, April 29. The Avondale autumn race meeting opened this afternoon. The results were:— Maiden Plate Handicap (19 starters) : Columbia 1, Goodwin Sands 2, Ardfoit 3. Won by a length. Handicap Hurdles (9 starters): Taioha 1, Master William 2, Hoanga 3. Won by two lengths, Oakley Handicap: Mighty Atom 1, Kanewara 2, Frontino 3. Eleven started. Won by two lengths. Juvenile Handicap (seven starters): Goldsize 1, Glad Tidings 2, Worcester 3. A splendid race, which was won i by a neck. Avondale Handicap, 200 soys (11) starters): Sedition 1, Soultoria 2, Electrikoff 3. Won by two lengths. Titirangi Handicap • Master Wairiki 1. Captain Soult 2, Impulsive 3. Fourteen starters. Won by threequarters of a length. Chevalier Handicap: Jack Delaval 1, Blue Mount 2. Harenoa 3. Twelve started. Won by two lengths. Railway Handicap: Miss Winnie 1, Sir Artegal 2, Jena 3. Pour started. Won by a length and a half.
