SECOND DAY
[United Fbess Association. 1 Hokitika, April 21. • There was splendid weather to-day i for the. close of the AVestland autumn race mooting. The attendance was fair. The totalisator investments for
the meeting totalled £8,334. Tho results were:—
Miners' Purse Handicap: Miss Sylvia 1, The Orient 2, Pure Rose 3. Won easily.
Electric Handicap: Millionaire 1, Montague 2, Yeodel 3. Eleven started. A splendid race, won by a short nock.
Provincial Handicap Trot: Wedgewood 1, Mount Cameiback 2, Andante 3. Sixteen competed. Won easily. Easter Handicap: Wild Bird 1, Tho Cornet 2, Tangaroa 3. Nino started. Wild Bird was never headed, and tho others were close up. County Trot: Andante 1, Poresina 2, Mount Cainclback 3. Twelve starters. The placed horses were close to each, other.
Weight Handicap: North Pole I, Miss Sylna 2, Hillspring 3. Six started. This was the best race of the day.
Farewell Handicap: Montague 1, Expansion 2, Ito 3. Six started. Won by a. length and a half.
