EMPIRE TRADE LEAGUE FORMED.
(Received March 17, 1.5 a.m.) London, March 16.
A meeting of manufacturers and merchants under the auspices of the Empire League at tho Guildhall, Lord Avebury presiding, formed an Empire Trade Mark Association. Mr McCall, Agent-General for Tasmania, warmly supported the movement. He said consumers were entitled to know whether or not goods were produced within the Empire. Tasmania always gave preference to tho Motherland, and his instructions were not to buy outside merely for the sake of five, ten or fifteen per cent advantage. (Cheers.)
