"Truth" says, according to a cable message, that Dr Wallis. until recently Bishop of Wellington, New Zealand, will probably be appointed Archdeacon of Wilts, and that he will assist the Bishop of Salisbury in routine work.
A Wellington telegram states that the following candidates passed tho "recent surveyors' examinations for Australia and New Zealand: J. D. Jack, Wellington; R. E. Fry, Auckland; W. P. Black, Dunedui; J. P. Larkin, Te Kuiti; R. M. Mclver, Christchurch ; H. M. Thompson, Hokitika; H. R. Young, Westport; R. M. Mouat, iWairoa, Hawke's Bay.
Amongst those who contemplate malting the trip to tho Coronation is Mr. George Vessey Stewart, the father of the Katikatr settlement, who hopes to leave during'this- month or early in April. Mr.Jsteas&rt has now passed his eightietli- jrearj and being a f,\iod "sailor" is of-opinion.(says the "Tauranga Times") that if. he makes the voyage to and from the Old Country he will take a new lease of life.
The "New Zealand Herald" states that Mr. Massey, Leader of the Opposition, will commence a tour of the South Island next week, proceeding as far as Central Otago. Nelson will be included among the towns at. which he will deliver addresses. Addresses will also be delivered in. various places by Messrs James Allen, M.P., and A. L. Herdman, M.P.
