Westport, March 15,

The following resolution was unanimously passed at a conference of miners' delegates from Dennistoii, Granity, Stockton, and Mokihinui held in Westport:— "That this conference enters its strong protest against the appointment of Messrs Betts and Fulton on the Royal Commission set up by the Government to inquire into the veutilation and sanitation of coal and gold mines throughout the Dominion. Further, we consider that the Federation of Labour's recommendation should haVo been given effect to, and in the event of the Federation's recommendation being not considered the whole of the miners throughout tho Dominion be asked not to give evidence or to assist the Commission

in any way."
