A FATHER AND SON DROWNED. - Hawera, Nov. 21. A drowning fatality occurred hero yesterday, when Frank Whiting, aged about 40, carpenter, aud his son John, aged six, were accidentally drowned wliilo bathing in Robertson's Lake. It seems that the father was swimming with tho boy on his back when ho must have become exhausted and sank before he could raise a cry tor I help !PW© were three other bathers I about at tho time, hut they did not witiicss the occurrence. The body of tho father was recovered at 4 o'clock in tho afternoon, and that of the boy at 5 o'clock this momiug.
