DEATH THROUGH A FALL.

Napier, Nov. 21. A man named Wi'liam- Cranny, agod seventy-one, for many years employed by the local branch of tho Bank of New Zealand, was accidentally killed to-day. He was cleaning thu outside of a window on the secohd story whenthe sash-cord to which he was holding broke. He fell backwards to the ground, sustaining internal injuries and fracturing the hip joint. He was removed to the hospital, but died shortly afterwards.
