NELSON JOCKEY CLUB.

ANNUAL RACE MEETING

COMMENCES TO-DAY.

The annual race meeting of the Nelson Jockey Club commences at Richmond Park to-day, and with fine weather should prove a success, as the fields, on tho whole, are satisfactory, and the course is in splendid- order. The West Coast contingent was expected early this morning by the Arahura. Complete arrangements for the meeting have been made by the club's Secretary (Mr J. Glen), and the shops in the city will close at 11.30 this morning. The first race will start at noon, and suitable trains will run- to and from Richmond. A large attendance of the public is anticipated.
