A STATEMENT AND A DENIAL
(Received April 11, 9.35 p.m.) London, April 11. '. Mr William O'Brien, in a speech at Cork, said he had read to Mr Lloyd George a lettej*. summarising his recollection of the results of his and Mr Healy's previous interviews with Mr Lloyd George, namely, that the increased duties and new taxes in Ireland, and the proposed re-valuation taignt be dropped, and land purchase be again expedited, conditional upon Mr Redmond and Mr Dillon meeting Messrs O'Brien and Healy to arrange Mr O'Brien added that Mr Lloyd George did not dispute th© accuracy of his recollection. Mr Lloyd George, in an interview yesterday, said he never received the letter nor was it read to him. Ihe statement therein was grossly untrue, and the affair was a disgraceful breach of confidence.
