FIRE AT WELLINGTON.
, Wellington, March 31. > Early this morning a fire was ;Jist covered in a largo brick building in > Stout street, owned and occupied bj : J. E. Butler and Co., Limited, whole- : sale saddlers. After two hours' haul ; work the brigade succeeded in cxtin- , guishing the names. The building was only slightly damaged, but the con- ! tents suffered severely from fire and , water. [ The building was insured for £5500 [ in the London and Liverpool and , Globe office, and the contents for £4650 in the same office, and £2000 ' in the North British, £1000 in the | National, and £2500 in the Standard offices. Several other tenants in the block also suffered.
