CHURCHES OF CHRIST.

CONFERENCE AT SPRING GROVE. The Churches of Christ conference at Spring Grove was continued on Good Friday, when the reports on Home Mission work were considered. It was found that tho amount received for Home Mission work fell below the average owing to the financial stringency of last year. Very encouraging reports were received : from the field, and this year it is .hop- j cd to extend the work from the Palmerston North centre and in Pahiatiia. The executive for the ensuing year was elected as follows :— President, j Mr C. A. Wilson (South Wellington) ; vice-president, Mr J. Bowley ; trcasu- . rer, Mr D. Campbell ; committee, Messrs Owen, Day, Davis, and Williams.. It was resolved to issue a quarterly report on Home . Mission work in the' "Glad Tidings" monthJy published at ■\Yeumg ton - . . It was resolved to form a union or tho Bible schools in connection with the Associated Churches. An executive committee was elected with headquarters at Nelson. . ■ . The Foreign Mission session was full of interest, and the report showed the splendid work being carried out in the churches' mission field at. Buluwayo and surrounding districts. . A splendid spirit was manifested throughout the conference, the buildill" from well filled by brethren hailing from all parts of the district, who manifested a keen interest in the proceedings. Tho public meetings held under the auspices of the conference were very largely attended, that, at the Home Mission rally on the Friday night being exceptionally large, the chapel being packed to overflowing. A feature of -the gathering was the splendid hospitality of the Waimea brethren} who on each day entertained the visiting delegates at dinner and tea in a large tent erected adjacent to the cliapel. The meetings closed on Monday night by a thanksgiving rally, presided over by Evangelist Charles Wilson Wellington, when some fine addresses were delivered, interspersed by some well sung anthems. Iho 1911 conference will be held next Laster at Wanganui.
