DROWNING CASE.

Palmerston North, March 26. A body found oh the Foxton beach yesterday proves to be that of a man about sft Bin in height and, between 50 and 60 years of age, slightly bald, with reddish whiskers, turning grey. He was apparently a working man of a seafaring appearance, and was fully dressed, but wearing slippers, and ;i handkerchief was discovered in a pocket of the clothes with the name T. Hatnson.in the corner. The body had apparently been in the water about seven days when discovered. It is suggested by the appearance and the fact that the man was wcariug slippers that the victim must have been a sailor who had fallen overboard off somo passing vessel, although no report of such loss has come to hand.
