A CHORUS OF PROTEST. London, March 26. "The Times' " Washington correspondent says that tho chorus of protests by telegraph against the threatened tariff war is reaching the Government. The Republican, party are impressed and urge a peaceful settlement. The unpopularity of the tarirt is growing both in East and West. The "Morning Post" states that President Taft has requested Mr, Bryce, British Ambassador, to impress tho Canadian Government with the necessity of tho concessions. This is the first time that Mr Bryce has had an interview with President Taft since the negotiations began.-
