NELSON HARBOUR BOARD
THE CHAIRMANSHIP
RE-ELECTION OF MR. GRAHAM,
The annual special meeting for the election of Chairman was held at the conclusion of the last ordinary meeting. Tho Secretary took the chair, and called for nominations for the position. Mr Mercer moved, and Mr Trask seconded, that Mr Graham be. reelected. Mr Coleman supported tho motion, and said they could not do better than re-elect Mr Graham. Mr Trask said that there was not a member who desired a change of chairman. He paid a tribute to Mr Graham's capabilities as chairman, and hoped he would long live to occupy the position. There being no other nominations, Mr_ Graham was declared re-elected amidst applause. Mr Graham thanked the members for re-electing him to the position for the tenth year. He said the work of the Board had been satisfactorily carried out, as had been' amply demonstrated by the visits of six ocean-going steamers during the year. It had been done without a rate, and their country friends were very well satisfied, as they were now able to send, their produce away and save transhipment charges. He said there was still something to ; be done, as the wharfage facilities had : to be improved, there being much con- ! gestion when an ocean steamer was in, I and he would watch the Board's inter- '< ftsts closely.
