THE VOLUNTEERS.
INSPECTION BY LORD KITCHENER AT JOHNSONVILLE. STEAMER ARRANGEMENTS. The College Cadets numbering about sixty are to leave Nelson per Pateena, at 9.30 a.m. on the 24th instant ; Marlborough Cadets, numbering 40, to leave Picton afc 5.30 p.m. same day, arriving at "Wellington at 10 p.m. Volunteers from Marlborough, numbering IGO or more are to leave Picton per Arahura, at 9 a.m. on the 25th arriving at Wellington at 1 p.m. Volunteers from Greymouth etc, will leave by s.s. Tutanekai on 23rd at 11 p.m., and Westport on 24th, •at 5 a.m. The Nelson portion, although probably not leaving until the early morning of the 25th, will be embarked on the Thursday evening. The Arahura leaves Wellington on the return journey at 8 a.m. on the 27th, taking all Picton troops and Nelson cadets. The Tutanekai will leave at the same hour, taking thd remainder of the troops for Nelson and West Coast. The. battalion parade will take place this evening. The country corps . will detrain at Stoke and the town corps assemble at the Drill Shed at seven, o'clock; The Garrison Band will march to" the town end of the Rocks road and bring tlia volunteers into town.
