FIRE AT CHRISTCHURCH.

A fire occurred at the "Spectator" newspaper office at tea o'clock today, but no great damage was done, the brigade coping with the outbreak effectually. A linotype machine. was destroyed by the fire. Tlie cause of the fire was an explosion of benaiue. Fisher, a lino, operator, was thrown from his Beat, and Eevorely ..injured. TJ-io foreman printer was enveloped in flames, and his face arid head vere badly bimiod. He was 'removed -to the hospital. The building was insured in the Norwich Union for £300 and the contents for £700 in the Standard office. The value of the linotype was £700.
