THEFT OF GOODS.

[United Press Association.] Dunedin, Oct. 2G. To-day a man named Robert Vance was charged at the Police Court with the theft of goods from J. and J. Arthur, outfitters. Accused had been in the employ of the firm only one day as a salesman when the theft was committed, to the value of £18 odd. The prisoner, wiio bore a bad character, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment.
