The "Wanganui Chronicle" states that Mr T. C. Webb, at present organist at St. Thomas's, Wellington, has been appointed organist and choirmaster at Christ Church, Wanganui, and will take up his duties shortly.
A Dupnedin Press Association telegram states that Mr Duthie, President of the Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Association, was given a send off by the members on the eve of a visit to the Old Country. A cable message from Sydney states that Mr Edwin Geach, the well-known theatrical manager, wa3 married yesterday to Miss Lily Wi)'i3, of Wellington. Mr J. H. Fowler, Government audit inspector for the Auckland South district, has been transferred to Nelson, in succession to Mr John King, who is being retired, having reached the age limit! The new director of the Agricultural College at Lincoln, Mr R. E. Alexander, is at present agriculturalist at the Albert Agricultural College at Glasnevin, Dublin. He is to leave for New Zealand in the course of a few weeks by one of the steamers of the NewZealand Shipping Company, writes tne "Post's" London correspondent under date 12th March. A Press Association telegram states Mr V. G. Day, S.M. was fare'ivelled at CJmstchurch yesterday by tiic Cnristchurch Law Society. Mention was made of Mr Day's four and a half year sservice in the district, during which he had been on the best of terms with the profession, who felt keenly his leaving. Mr Day has been transferred to Timaru but will sit at Ashburton and Itakaia. The members of the Timber Commission and party arrived at Kphafru ;last evening by special coach, and will reach town by train this morning, and be located at the Commercial Hotel-. "We understand that no meeting will be held in Nelson, and the party will sail by to-morrow's Wellington steamer. The party consists of Messrs J, F. Arnold, M.P., Hon. T. Y. Duncan, M.P.. W. H. Field, M.P. (and Mrs Field), J. A. Hanan, M.P., W. T. Jenningfe. M.P., F. Mander, M.P. J. Stalhvorthy, M.P., S. J. Clarke, W. B. Leyland, W. Morris, and W. R. Jurdin (secretary).
