Invercargill, April 22. Something in the nature of a labour dispute has developed in connection with the oyster industry at the Bluff. One firm uses a steamer as well as several auxiliary cutters, and the cuttermen believe they suffer by comparison with the steamer men, all hands being paid at per thousand oysters dredged. As a result of the protest four of the cutters have been laid up, and the men 'rendered idle. There is said to be hope of an early settlement.
